Free Specialty Medications
You can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars on covered specialty medications with PrudentRx.
If you enroll in one of the National Medical Program options, you’ll automatically be enrolled in PrudentRx as part of your prescription drug coverage through CVS Caremark. Through this free and confidential program, you’ll pay $0 for covered specialty medications filled at CVS Specialty Pharmacy.
If you are enrolled in an HSA option, IRS regulations require you meet your deductible before the PrudentRx benefits can begin.
Your medication may be covered
PrudentRx currently targets specialty medications in the following therapy classes:
- Hepatitis C
- Autoimmune
- Oncology
- Multiple Scerosis
Opting out of PrudentRx
You may opt out of the program by calling 1-800-578-4403; however, if you opt out, you’ll be responsible for paying 30% coinsurance for any specialty medications you take that are included in the PrudentRx program.
If you’re required to pay coinsurance for a specialty medication considered a “non-essential health benefit,” you’ll be required to continue paying this amount even if you’ve otherwise met the Plan’s out-of-pocket maximum.
